As a graduate of this school and now mother of 4 who have gone through HCA since preschool(my youngest is in 7th), I cannot speak highly enough about Holmesburg! You will not find a more loving, dedicated and helpful staff anywhere. Yes, tuition for private school can be a burden but the benefits of having your child in this loving, christian environment more than outweigh the financial aspects. Plus, they are always ready to help families apply for scholarships/financial aid in any way they can. This school provides a family like environment where your child can build a relationship with Jesus and a strong spiritual foundation that will stay with them the rest of their lives!
Holmesburg Chrisrian Academy Is small, has dedicated staff and teachers, friendly, family environment, all staff knows all students and are always available for any student. The majority of students are on honor roll because of the true ability of the teachers to teach and make learning fun. Most of the parents are very involved in the school and help in all areas when needed.
They are like a big family, including the drama but there is so much love. The administration really takes time to get to know you.
I've been really impressed by this school. The teachers are dedicated and hard working, the curriculum is well thought out, they educate students in basic Christian beliefs from the Bible, they instill Christian values and moral principles, and overall they cultivate a really good learning environment. They are also really good about dealing with discipline issues; making sure students are not permitted to repeatedly disrupt the learning environment and safety of other children. I've seen parents of trouble-children get up in arms about how the school doesn't treat their child fairly, but I for one appreciate that they don’t tolerate disruptive and disobedient behavior in the classroom. It doesn't have all the resources that more expensive private schools tend to have, but that's fine because it keeps the school affordable. Parents can find those things elsewhere if they really want them. Overall, I highly recommend this school!
