The worst part about Holmes High School were the students and some of the admin. Most of the students would complain about stuff that they were doing to themselves and then blame the teachers for it. Another thing is that if you weren't in some kind of sport you would kind of get ignored. Admin didn't really do anything about students in halls wondering around or if they would smoke in the bathroom. As someone who was pregnant during school this made it difficult to use just about any restroom without worrying if it was safe or not to use.
The best thing about Holmes is that if you create a relationship with some of the teachers and staff they'll be there for you all the time even if they're busy.

The best part is that as an educator this provides incredible resources and scholarships with relevant data easily accessible. Worst part is that some of these scholarships are location specific and school specific which isn’t always cleared.
Oliver Wendell Holmes High School in San Antonio, Texas has some strengths and weaknesses. On the positive side, the school has a diverse student body and offers a variety of extracurricular activities. Some teachers are dedicated and go above and beyond to help their students succeed. However, the school also faces several challenges. For instance, overcrowding and outdated facilities, which may negatively impact the learning environment. Communication from administration can also be inconsistent, and there have been concerns about safety and disciplinary issues. Overall, Oliver Wendell Holmes High School has its ups and downs.
Throughout my experience at Holmes high School I really love the atmosphere from the other students, there is a true diversity at that school from people from Hawaii to California. I can’t even explain the great selection of elective choice there are but there definitely is something for every that fits them. The only negative thing is that there are a few teachers who don’t give the students the greatest explanation of a current subject there learning which makes it hard to fully understand that subject.
Good school, has great staff that are willing to help you through your years at the high school. Have many clubs to join.
It could very much stand to improve. Many of the teachers have little interest in helping students, the campus is often dirty with trash, and admin often never care about making improvements. Overall, though, it isn’t the worse, and having NSITE there is very much a pro.
My overall experience here at Holmes high school was a good 4 years! Although there were few bumps and bruises during these four years, I wouldn’t change it for the world. Going to this school has made me who i am today and it has gave me the opportunity to meet new people and talk to new people who i have never even seen before and to give me the chance of meeting nice and genuine human beings. During the 4 years, of course there was people who weren’t so genuine but that’s life. There’s going to be people you eat who aren’t the best people to be around with ad that’s okay because you can exclude yourself away from these people and problems it isn’t always gonna be all sunshine and rainbows
Holmes is great school with nice teachers nice students but I don't like the structure because during rainy days it's very slippery and it's hard to walk outside. The band program here is really good though! The band directors are really nice and fun! The colorguard director is really nice too. The spirit team and the fine arts programs are very awesome at this school
This school wouldn't have been my first choice, but I do enjoy the scenery and its connection to the community. The student body, like most schools, have cliques, but at our school they easily become violent. Drugs are easily accessible with minimal intervention and consequences.
Great teachers! you can tell they love doing what they do and try their best to support and push you.
Holmes High school is a great High School, you're able to develop your skills through the teachers, and most of them create an environment were you can feel comfortable.
It's a good school the pep rally is fun the game is fun too and the band is really good the teacher are nice
Most of the teachers that I had were amazing and understanding, but the admin over there are strict and very rushing when you're walking to class. The food is also really bad. They used to serve good food three years ago, but it went downhill. I would love to have them get better food. With the construction, it is really poor. In the D building, some of the classrooms have gaps in the walls making it harder to protect ourselves during lockdown which I hope they would fix and make the school to be safer to be in. Another thing is the bathrooms. They're really dirty and there are times I would go in there and there would be no soap or toilet paper.
It was an overall pleasant experience but could use improvement in nearly every aspect. Students are often overlooked by teachers and admin
Holmes High School was very welcoming and allowed me to express myself to my fullest extent. It helped me majorly with college readiness and illustrated how confident I should going into college.
Holmes is a pretty good Highschool with some great academics, athletics, and extracurriculars.Sometimes the school is rowdy because of so many students but the student diversity is good.
All the teachers and the the other staff are excellent. The only flaw was with he environment, the children there are too high spirited in sports and care the least on Academics. They're a little uncompetitive
