The abundance of courses to choose from can keep any students exploring until they seek their passion. Administration is very response.
I am a student at Holmdel High School. Though I did not always feel welcomed by the student body, the teachers and faculty were always incredibly accepting of and caring for me, and helped me prepare properly for college and encouraged my passion instead of encouraging me to change my ideal path. The school has an excellent arts and humanities program, but I do wish that it was highlighted on even nearly the same level as the scientific program and the sports team, particularly the football team which I feel eclipses the importance of most of the students and makes many of us feel unimportant by comparison as we are very rarely celebrated for our achievements outside of that.
Holmdel High School is truly an amazing school, with opportunities for every kind of student. The academics and extracurriculars are A+, and the teachers are, for the most part, highly satisfactory. Although there isn't much diversity, the school is supportive and welcomes all students. Admittedly, students aren't always afforded the trust they deserve, as I've experienced in this school. Overall, though, the school will definitely help prepare you for college and beyond.
Holmdel High School has excellent academics. I was able to dive deeply into my passions and take all the classes I desired. It also has many clubs and extracurriculars for all areas of study. I believe HHS has prepared me a lot for college and beyond. One disadvantage to the school is that it is hard to find "your tribe" and people who you connect with. In addition, sometimes I feel that we as students are not allowed to act as mature adults and everything is restricted and supervised. Overall, though, Holmdel High School is an excellent secondary institution that deserves recognition.
Holmdel High School has very good teachers, who are willing to go above and beyond for their students. There are many different clubs and extracurricular activities as well. While the schoolwork can be demanding, it helps students better prepare for a college workload.
Great people, nice and supporting teachers and staffs. Great place for learning. Safe learning environment!
not a lot of diversity, good school spirit, excellent academics and resources, very safe, qualified teachers and many activities. lots of sports, excellent soccer program. lots of parent involvement, maybe a little too much. inconsistent principles (4 in the last 4 years). Food is mediocre at best. great facilities, definitely prioritize math, science over English and the arts.
HHS isn't a bad school at all. I'd say I'm most impressed with its plethora of advanced classes and electives to choose from, with classes ranging from Public Speaking to Architecture. And there are so many AP classes to choose from, and some are even available for Freshman. I feel that every student has the opportunity to foster their personal goals and passions here, nothing is holding them back.
The teachers are mostly great people, there are definitely a few bad apples but some of the greatest teachers are here as well.
The environment in general is quite nice, and I'd say diversity is here as well, but the workload and competitive environment can be overwhelming. Clubs and organizations exist but not much culture surrounds them, and school spirit is pretty weak here, but the vital academics are nice here.

The academics of Holmdel High School are challenging in comparison to other public schools — the curriculum really helps students prepare for college. The student atmosphere of the high school, however, may sometimes feel demeaning to an individual, especially if they feel “different” in any way.
Holmdel High School prepares student for college and the teachers are great and there is a lot of resources which students can use
I really enjoyed my time in high school. There was a wide variety of classes to choose from and plenty of extracurriculars to become involved in. My experiences with teachers were positive, and I felt well prepared for what comes after.
I liked Holmdel High School overall, it was a nice experience. Some things that could be changed are the overpriced food. Some other things that can be changed are the clubs some should have more information.
Holmdel High School offers an excellent education. I was definitely encouraged to always challenge myself with the courses I took. Most of the peers are very hardworking, diligent, and motivated students who have a bright future ahead of them.
Academics are pretty good (though quite competitive I'd say). Teachers are nice and helpful - many of them are experienced in the field, which is good.
The school is really intelligent. The staff always make sure there is something to do! The athletic program is well-funded and is strong.
Though only an incoming junior at Holmdel High School in Central New Jersey, I commend the facility on giving all efforts to make high school an inclusive, safe, and fun experience for all. As all high schools are, Holmdel most definitely follows stereotypical clicks. Yet, the staff holds countless events (Sports events, Car Wash's, etc) to bring the student body together to the best of their efforts. Holmdel alumni persistently express their gratitude for the academics at Holmdel as it prepares them for the college work load. Holmdel produces thinkers of all subjects by offering unpopular classes like Pre-law and a wide variety of clubs including a Frisbee league. Yet, Holmdel lacks diversity which can often lead to ignorance of other cultures. Many Holmdel students do take the initiative to better themselves and others by joining clubs and missions to diversify themselves in other cultures.
My experience here was great. Overall, excellent academics, especially for those interested in STEM. The teachers and faculty, for the most part, are great and accommodating. I would say that my only caveat is that the environment is not diverse. I've noticed that many students, including myself, grow up with a "sheltered" view of the world, but that's unfortunately a downside to attending a upper-middle class, white public school. Other than that, HHS is a great school and I'm glad I attended.
