The community at Hollywood High is like no other school. The diversity in the community of Hollywood High is just exceptional and the amount of opportunities Hollywood has for its students is amazing. There's always a place for everyone no matter their gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, etc. Hollywood welcomes and cares for each of their students. Hollywood also always ensures that their students are gaining the knowledge of the classes provided whether that's an academic class like history, math, English, science, etc. if its an elective of the visual performing arts like dance, choir, tech theatre, theatre, etc. The amount of school spirit Hollywood has for their students to ensure that they have an amazing experience is just, wow. All staff, teachers, and administrative are always trying their best to support their students in any way. In the words of the current principal, Mr.Dovaltian, "Here at Hollywood, we are a family and are here from start to finish together."
Being in the center of the entertainment industry, Hollywood High school, has always been filled with aspiring kids who want to be in the arts. But rather than it being all about acting and singing it also has areas for students who are primarily focused on academic. Which is why I think their ranges in student learning has variability. Though, when it comes to teaching these areas they do lack some ability to actually teach students. It’s not that they don’t teach but when they are teaching, I feel like they don’t take their time to teach students or instead rely on videos rather than actually demonstrating and showing on the boards. It’s almost as if these online tools helps students more than the teachers themselves, that is if we comprehend what the tools given to us. I would say though that Hollywood does have lots of resources for kids compared to other schools. At the end of the day, all the people at Hollywood want our school to be an outlet for academic success.
Being in Hollywood high school for the past four years has been a good experience. I've had a lot of good experiences there and I feel like we are a family, and we are all together. I love that in Hollywood high school we have a lot of mental health resources and support for the students. My school is very supportive for the sports and they make plans for the events we have. The students are always proud of our sports team as well as our clubs for things they do. The teachers there are very supportive to the students and help students out when we the students need support. We have overall good teachers and i feel happy to go to school and feel supported.
