Holly Springs High School is entirely too focused on the wrong things. We are given deadlines for important events late and the students are still expected to do what we are supposed to do on short notice. We were pressured into signing up for the ACT, but they gave the waivers to the students too late and the student would not have been able to take it at the school because all the seats were filled. The school does have amazing teachers that you can talk to at times.
Holly Springs High School has a high teaching skills. It has most of the classes that are relevant to us in the future. It has a caring principle. It’s has a strike uniform policy.
I like the experience. I like the vision and the mission accomplishments. I like the sport. I like the sources that they taught us.
This is the worst place I have ever worked by far. The administrators are only worried about appearances: uniforms, keeping students in line, and improving standardized test scores. What they fail to realize is that test scores will not improve if no teaching actually can occur, which it cannot. Administrators will either micromanage teachers or totally ignore them, depending on if the subject is state tested. Students who misbehave are simply sent right back to class. The only discipline teachers are allowed to dole out is calling parents, who do nothing but complain about being called. Administrators will try to ruin a teacher's career if they try to leave or complain or change things at the school.
I enjoy the culture of Holly Sprngs High School to include the passion of the teachers and administration to ensure each student is provided the opportunity to maximize his or her learning. We are also provided an environment that is conducive to learning.
Holly Springs High School is a school that’s more concerned about minor things such as dress code, cell phones, etc.
I like that I'm able to take a chinese class. It's fun to learn a new language. The tests can be quite easy and hard if you don't remember everything.
Holly Springs high school focused more on ACT than anything. That test is something you can't teach. I understand that it's a big deal and a high score determines what college you'll go to, but they failed to teach students how to write. Before Northwest, I didn't know what APA or MLA format was. That's how unprepared I was for college. The curriculum at Holly Springs High School is not challenging at all. You could miss a week of school and come back and pass a test without studying at all. The curriculum needs to drastically improve.
I like that the school is small and you get a family feel! They focus a lot on test but should spend more time teaching students how to right though. Even they writing once I got to college was a challenge I still feel that if you apply yourself you will be successful here.
We have the core classes. There are a limited amount of extra choices.
Everything is based off on popularity, looks, and who you know.
Every club had their set of standards and they wereally met by everyone participating.
I enjoyed the non-athletic events as well as the different experiences I had.
Or extra activities are great and lots of students participate.
Some parents come to the school to make sure we receive a great education.
My teachers love to help us with the things we do not quite understand. They give us extra practice in order to learn the lessons.
there are about a handful of parents that always show up for important things
