I loved how the school tackled academics. They didn't have you just memorize facts and move on to the next subject, the classes doesn't function like that. They have "Harkness discussions" that centers around various ideas from students, and the students take these different opinions and theories from each other to formulate their own conclusions. No teacher enforces specific beliefs or ideas onto them, the students simply create their own by communicating with others. There's no judging, no harsh debating, just open-mindedness and absolute understanding that the purpose isn't to compete, but to cooperate, bond, and learn.

I’ve been at Holland Hall since I was three and I have absolutely loved everything about it! The community is so welcoming, caring and positive.
Within the first week of school my sons teachers picked up on his passions and interests. He is constantly talking about his dirt bike so his teacher asked me to send video and pictures of him riding so his classmates could see him in action! The student teacher relationships are so special and unique to Holland Hall even at this young age. They really tuned in to his love of sports and make sure they share that interest with him. I am so grateful to have this school helping guide my child thru life. I can't see what amazing things he accomplishes with his teachers by his side.

It was important to me that pretend play and outdoor play was a daily occurrence. They always have great pretend stations and are outside all the time. They take a special hike thru the property, have picnics, and read outside on nice days in addition to daily recess. It's fun to overhear his pretend play at home and see all he is learning without feeling pushed or stressed.
