What personally stood out to me about Hoffman Estates High School is that it contains a vast amount of diversity. Another thing that I appreciate about Hoffman Estates High School is that it is a warm and welcoming environment for all difference groups and backgrounds. At Hoffman Estates High School, no group of students is left out and every student has equal opportunity no matter their background. On the contrary, an unfavorable aspect that Hoffman Estates High School could improve, speaking from a personal experience, is that some teachers could show bias towards other students sometimes on whether they are studious or not. Another flaw Hoffman Estates High School could work on is the fact that on athletic teams, not all players get to play due to their skill level. Some players also do not get a chance to participate at least once all season in a game or match. I feel that all athletes should be given the chance to participate at least once during a season in an event.

Hoffman Estates High School, much like my community in Hoffman Estates, is immersed in beautiful diversity. Unlike other schools, even ones near Hoffman, the people are of nearly every different background, religion, culture, sexuality, etc. Beyond the open-mindedness and much needed awareness attributed to the experience at Hoffman, in general the students are quite caring and diligent. Moreover, the majority of the teachers truly care about the education and wellbeing of their students. My overall experience at Hoffman has been fairly wonderful.
This school has one of the warmest environments I have ever been in. Besides usual high school drama, everyone here is friendly and understanding of individual differences, and every teacher I’ve had the pleasure of working with has been passionate and willing to go the extra mile for the students. Hoffman does have some social cliques, but the barriers that separate each group are minimal. The sense of community at this school is truly the best thing about it. Here you’re not a number, you’re a person. There are also resources provided to students in academics, the district pays for a large collection of online research databases and there’s a media center full of reference material. The technology center is always ready to assist students having trouble with their district-supplied iPad, every windows computer is fully updated, and there are several Apple computers available for digital media students.
