Hockinson was, well... Disappointing. As a student who was goal-oriented and wanted to put my head down, to get things done and move on, a lot of time was wasted by unnecessary required events or lectures. The social structures between parents with money, administration, and the politics behind all of that made the school's atmosphere very cliquey and judgemental (be that direct or indirect). But hey, at least the band was good!

Hockinson High School has been a very safe, friendly and accepting place. Going to school sometimes doesn’t feel like a chore because It is easy to make connections with teachers and new people. With such a loving and encouraging community their is little to complain about!
The academic potion is very well set up. Although, the recognition for certain sports isn’t there. Hockinson’s funding in the last two years has also failed. The Levy passed last year on scrapped by for sports and currently all the technology is outdated causing issues with online learning. And like any other school there are certain teachers that teach clearer than others. There needs to be more teachers hired and more rooms added on to the building to better prepare the school for the constant growing population of the small town. Last, a lot of the furniture is run down and should be replaced soon. Overall though, the school is a great home for students to grow and learn with one another.
