For the four years that I have been at this school I have had nothing but caring teachers. Most, if not all of the staff would be more than happy to stay well after school to help students with any work they might not understand.
Lots of one on one experience with teachers due to reduced class size. However, the school could benefit from having a few more challenging options for accelerated students.
Hoboken Charter School is a diverse community with supportive classmates and staff. The school has had many positive changes over the course of time I was there. Teachers help students who are struggling with a certain subject. When I had trouble in math, my teacher let me stay with them 30 minutes after class to help me understand a certain topic. For clubs, they have a few such a sports club, chess club and cheerleaders. My personal favorite is the robotics club. The club introduces teamwork with students in different grades and into STEM for beginners. The school prepare students well for college in senior year by having them fill out the FASFA and brings in Admission Officers from other colleges to introduce to the students. I highly recommend Hoboken Charter School to other students who want to be in a loving diverse community.
I love the one on one experience you have with teachers. You build a close relationship that you would not have if you attended a big high school. The students however are a whole different story. Have a positive mindset and attitude when coming to this school.
This school didn't help me with my college decision and helping me apply to colleges and it really didn't prepared me for real life and college work.
As a collective the school fails. The school offers little to no opportunity and lacks in discipline as well as having almost an entire new set of teachers each year. Although these things drag the school down, the staff (most of them) provides students with any and all help, academic and other wise.
Safe neighborhood and safe school. Some teachers went out of their way to help me when I needed assistance.
Not enough variety for student. No vegetarian option. just fruit available.
Some teachers do go beyond what is necessary for students.
I had a broken jaw and they told me I was fine.
Not many intermingled. I kept to myself.
I only learned economics at that school.
Once school was over that was it. There was only after school help with classes and that was rare as well.
Not hard enough where it needs to be, punishes the wrong students.
