Hobbs High School is an average high school that students from the city of Hobbs can assist. This different classes in each grade have very little diversity. Most of the kids are either hispanic or white. There tends to be more diversity within those students who need special help. Nonetheless, there is no discrimination against anybody. Academically wise, this school does not challenge students enough. There are very little resources provided to guide students through the college process, which is critical for high school students!
This is a pretty average school, and does a poor job of getting you ready for college life. They gave me a list of classes that didn’t set me up for graduation and now I’m scrambling to earn credits last minute. The food is very very good though and we have a good selections of extracurricular activities. We have a few teachers who care so much so it’s nothing all bad at all!
The teaching quality of Hobbs High varies from teacher to teacher. If luck is with you, you might just get the one with extensive knowledge on the subject area or you may get someone that will grade your paper halfheartedly. Nevertheless, the teachers that go above and beyond for the students can definitely make it worth your time. It almost makes you wish the administration treated them better. that brings me to the next part, the administration. They can be helpful at times but, the majority of the time the amount of effort to get them to do something can seem not worth it. Also, the environment around the school is not the best. It most certainly requires better eco-friendly developments that do not gentrify the area but brings in more opportunities. Alas, one can only hope.
