My experience at Hinkley High School has been the experience of an average high schooler. I have had some very good teachers that were very enjoyable to learn from although not all of them have been like that. Also, there are many students that participate in sports and clubs that peak their interest. There is a good amount of diversity and appreciation for people of color. The science classrooms are well thought out, they all have storage rooms and aesthetically pleasing tiles. We have a variety of challenging classes as well as regular classes and a great special ed program! However, we often run out of resources such as toilet paper, paper towels, and materials such as art supplies, gloves and printer ink. We have had a handful of lock downs and even had the SWAT team come in once, because of this we have a couple of police officers at school at all time. Although Hinkley it not the best, safest or most ideal school to attend, all the students have made it somewhat of a home.

My overall experience with Hinkley High School has been satisfactory. While the institution has a high academic standard, there is a minimal effort from the staff to ensure the students' success. While some teachers are nonchalant about the success of their students, there are some who teach with genuine passion and corroborate. The school does a decent job with college readiness. It provides International Baccalaureate(IB), and college classes at no cost to students. For some of the IB classes, it is possible to obtain college credits as well. The culture is average, there is not a lot of school spirit due to the lack of interesting activities in the school to boost morale and interest. There are hardly any programs or activities that offer artistic freedom. Overall, Hinkley High School provides good educational opportunities but has much work left before reaching its optimal form.
Something I liked about going to Hinkley was the diversity we had in the school. There were all kinds of people from different places who demonstrated their background cultures. Some of the teachers were really understanding when it came to not understanding assignments, or when you we're pushed back and needed help. There were some constant teachers who would build amazing relationships and support us through our high school journey. They would help us on looking for scholarships, apply for sports and all of that. Our counselors we're there to talk to us with whatever we needed. Even if it was just to talk.
