At Hillside, we are invested in cultivating the gifts of our students so they can share them with the world in meaningful ways. We provide a challenging, college preparatory program centered on developing creative, compassionate, critically thinking individuals. In our small, supportive classes, our students feel safe to risk mistakes—which is how real learning happens. They learn the courage to fail, to forgive the failure, to learn from it, to revise, to move forward, and to try again. They learn to be self-aware, to recognize the strengths and limitations of themselves and others, and to use those limitations to develop compassion. We welcome you to find out more about our school and its program.

Hillside Student Community School Reviews
My son was graduated from Hillside in 2018 very well prepared for a rigorous college environment; offered scholarships at several schools, he chose Macalester College, where he has flourished, and credits his Hillside teachers for much of his academic and social success.
My daughter is currently enrolled, is a very different learner than him, and is growing from the same attention the incredible staff gave my son.
A staff member since 1996, I cannot sing the praises of this committed staff and remarkable environment enough. The intimate size results in individualized attention, and bonds between students who might in a larger environment not benefit from contact with one another (no cliques, no bullying). I'm moved by the coordination between staff to develop the gifts of every student within the school. I've never experienced an atmosphere as supportive and constructive as this.
