I am currently a Freshman in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program and I've got to say that my experience so far has been wonderful! I love how understanding the teachers, principal, assistant principal, IB counselor and other administrators are. They are all very helpful and kind, and will do their very best! If you ever need anything or have any questions, there is no need to be shy- just ask! The teachers are great and easy to speak to. The clases are a good size with a calm and focused environment. The electives are fun and interesting, and you will never be bored with the clubs. One aspect which is very useful is the JA or study hall and lunch is separated into three different sections- A, B, and C. I recommend Hillsborough (IB) to any student wanting an interesting and challenging experience. It is definitely worth it in the long run!

Most teachers are kind and caring, and can competently do their jobs, however others fail to even input grades on time and students have to worry about missing assignments they didn’t know they had until the last week of the quarter. The community is also pretty good, but is also fairly divided. There is a huge divide between the traditional and IB side of school, and it’s a shame to see people so segregated in this day and age.
The IB program at Hillsborough High School has been extremely rigorous, but I know that it has prepared me for college. My teachers care about the the success and education of their students, which is so appreciated! The school itself is beautiful as well. The guidance department is fantastic, the IB counselor Mr. Driscoll is one of the nicest, most helpful people I've met. The only things I wish were different about the school are the rift between traditional students and IB students and the behavior issues.
