I really like that the principal lets the students make the decisions. The teachers encourage, teach, and push us so we are ready for the next grade.
The class selections create a balanced experience for students. The counselors are there to keep students informed and engaged to stay on track. I like that they use social media to share upcoming news and opportunities. We had a job fair at our school and a lot of companies came in search of employees. I was able to talk to employers and learn more about what they were looking for. Also, the school makes it easy for students to connect with colleges. The colleges come to the students and talk to us about the school and the opportunities. These are just a few things that I like about my high school.
Overall, I think this school is the right mix of student involvement, principal support and teacher encouragement. I feel good about where I am headed, and I am happy I was able to attend Hillgrove High School.

I really enjoyed the culture at Hillgrove. School pride is crazy in Powder Springs, I still see so many cars with Hillgrove letter magnets. I was in the orchestra and marching band and being in the arts program at Hillgrove allowed me opportunities like preforming at Carnegie Hall and even in China. Our football team is well known, and you can find people wearing spirit wear everywhere. I fell in love with environmental engineering because of the wonderful math and science program there. Loved it!
Hillgrove has definitely shaped me into who I am. Attending this high school gave me so many opportunities and networking connections that I wouldn’t have received had I gone to another school. The administration, teachers and stuff actually care about the student and their future successes and want nothing but the best for them. The motto “deliberately success” is one that is instilled within me and I am grateful for that.
