I really enjoyed being at Hillcrest all four years of high school. Hillcrest gets a bad rep, but it's changing for the better. With a national award-winning broadcast program, an award-winning choir, orchestra, band, and even a JROTC program, Hillcrest is continually improving. Not to mention that the building is currently under reconstruction right now. In a few years, kids and their parents will be jumping to transfer here.
Hillcrest is pretty good. It's been a fun four years and I'm reluctant to go. I've made lots of friends here and have always felt like I belong.
Overall, the school will be one of the few forever homes I will remember. Loved the JROTC Program while attending Hillcrest. The honors/AP courses have prepared me for college greatly.
Hillcrest has various opportunities for their students. I was once a student and I would give ANYTHING to go back . Hillcrest is a great school from the teachers , cafeteria staff , to administrators , etc . Overall , its a great school .
I think, from all aspects, Hillcrest is an average high school. The facilities are not in the best condition (and it is due for a whole school makeover this next year), but also not in the worst. My experience at the school was fine; what made it good was the people and my involvement in clubs. Most of the teachers care about their students well being. This past year we also got a new principal who I believe has made the school a more positive and accepting environment. He makes efforts to bring back school spirit and shows students that he cares.
Everything I'm writing is what I've been told by freinds who went here. The school seems to be vastly underfunded with rather rude teachers who dont do their jobs properly. The school also seems to be rather dangerous with fights happening often. I havent experienced it myself but from what I've heard about this place the school is bad.
Most teachers try really hard to make school worth coming to, but the environment is not great. There is barely any school spirit because Hillcrest has been labeled as the troubled school of Springfield. However, it has gotten better. Teachers are trying harder now, and most care about their students.
I went to Hillcrest as a student, and while my experience was overall fairly positive, the school itself is not the best place for students to attend. There are many teachers who do not care about their jobs or the students in their classes, and the building is in horrible condition making it very hard to have a comfortable and stable learning environment.
The atmosphere of the school did not promote learning, and although hands on learning can be fun, there was not much learning involved.
I've been going to Hillcrest for the past three years. The art programs are excellent, but that is mostly due to teachers. In the first month of school, there were thirty-two fights. Though they have died down there are still fights every so often. This is probably because of the overpopulation here at Hillcrest.
It has been a good year so far other than some of the school food isn't that good. The teachers like to pack work on you but that's understandable for the points of the class. The block days are okay but it's kind of easy to forget about homework.
The school itself is rather run down, save for a few re-done places. Fights occur often but rarely are very damaging. However, many of the teachers are passionate about their students, and the dual credit opportunity at HIllcrest is much higher than most other schools.
Hillcrest is a very diverse school. When things happen in the community, everyone works together to help each other and those around them. There’s all different types of activities and clubs for everyone!
I really liked how caring the teachers at Hillcrest would be. They would always be there as moral support and they would continuously push you to do your best.
Volleyball is a great program, great coach. Needs more information given out on finding scholarships, grants, etc for college.
My experience at Hillcrest High School in Springfield, Missouri was excellent. All the teachers were really nice and would help students one on one. They would make sure you understood what you were taught. The student however were rude and hateful.
At Hillcrest High School the thing I like the most is the people. I also have had a lot of really fun classes that I have learned much in. I like the atmosphere and the teachers a lot. I also like the sports facilities. What I would like to see change is the building. The building could use a upgrade. The school is good and the people, but the building could use a makeover.
