I've been attending Hillcrest for three years now. I have enjoyed the sports, teachers, and just the laid - back environment. I have seen growth over this last year with our new principle and many changes are still to come. We are remodeling in the upcoming years which is exciting. We've really been needing just new life. The students just need encouragement and to have a good time learning things that they want to learn. We've established a new system for the lower grades, but I have not gone through this new program and do not know what it is about. It seems to be having a good run though. I believe Hillcrest is a good school, it may have some rough kids, but every school does. If you do the right thing (and it may be hard); people will respect you.

I think, from all aspects, Hillcrest is an average high school. The facilities are not in the best condition (and it is due for a whole school makeover this next year), but also not in the worst. My experience at the school was fine; what made it good was the people and my involvement in clubs. Most of the teachers care about their students well being. This past year we also got a new principal who I believe has made the school a more positive and accepting environment. He makes efforts to bring back school spirit and shows students that he cares.
Hillcrest is a very diverse school. When things happen in the community, everyone works together to help each other and those around them. There’s all different types of activities and clubs for everyone!
