My experience and journey of high school is about to come to an end in more than 6 months. I'm not going to say I've learned a lot about myself there except softball. Figuring out who I am will be saved for college. I love the facility and staff at Hillcrest High School. The sports there are simply amazing along with the coaches who care for us deeply. The food is awfully horrible (for now) and the administrators are too strict but it wouldn't be called Hillcrest High School without their flaws. We are now in the middle of construction to build a big and better school for students around the community to come back. They are doing this for us and for you so please do come and enroll in Hillcrest High School Dallas, TX. You won't regret your experience there. See you soon!

Hillcrest has a bunch of different extracurriculars to take part in. We have sports like Football, volleyball, track, cross country, club lacrosse, tennis (State champs!), baseball, basketball, softball, etc. Administration tries to attend games and support the teams but are sometimes overwhelmed with other issues that they can't stay consistent in their support. But when asked, they do what they can to help out athletes. In general, our sports teams make it to at least first round playoffs- especially volleyball, basketball, and baseball. Clubs like Interact, Key Club, Student Council, and NHS serve the school. Cheerleaders and Panaders have lots of school spirit and work hard to support and entertain the student body! The Panther Pride Band is very inclusive and seem like one big family. There are other clubs like French Club, Art Club, Reading Club and GSA that are more artistic.
As an AP student, I have encountered some truly caring, intelligent and gifted teachers in my years at HHS. They set high standards but are fair and care about their student's personal life. They are always there via email and text to answer any questions about homework. Some teachers have a more interactive learning style and relate their lessons to real life. However, not all of the teachers at Hillcrest are positive in the classroom and wait till the last minute to enter grades and rely on dry lectures to teach. This is often not helpful to me because I like when teachers change up their lessons and teaching styles to engage students. Sadly, there's a high turnover rate with teachers at HHS, especially in the math department. This creates an environment where veteran teachers find themselves becoming jaded and negative over district-imposed burdens like "LOs" and "DOLs" and spending time in department meetings every week instead of holding tutoring for their students. But overall, there are some great teachers at Hillcrest. More importantly, if the student is self-motivated about learning and wants to do their best, they will most definitely thrive at Hillcrest!
