I have attended Hillcrest Christian Academy since my sixth grade year and plan to continue throughout my high school years. The school is equipped with plenty of classrooms and space for students; the facility is beautiful. The high school has recently added classes from Geneva College that eleventh and twelfth grade students can take to receive college credit, wonderfully equipping students for a bright future. The teachers are kind, caring, personal, engaging, and a positive influence on the students at Hillcrest. The school provides a Christian environment that provides a positive experience for children and teenagers as they go through school. I highly recommend Hillcrest, as the school has been very influential and a wonderful blessing in my life as well as other students and families involved in the school.

For an education you are paying for out of pocket, it leaves much to be desired. There are no after school clubs, very little diversity within the school, the teacher turnover rate is extremely high. They are not on par with some area public schools, some teachers are unable to accommodate children with learning differences while others are. Leadership is lacking. It was different a few years ago. Things have certainly changed. They've taken the fun out of the school and the classrooms. There is no focus, nothing that sets them apart. There are very few class parties or school celebrations that are inclusive of the family. They have rules saying 3 parents out of the whole class are allowed to come to a class Christmas party. They do not give awards for good behavior or attendance. In fact, they do not accept excused absences so if your child is sick, it will appear on their record as unexcused.
They are academically sound and more importantly Jesus is involved in every classroom. Teachers love and care for each and every student like they are their own child. The new Principal listens very openly to every issue that is brought before her and acts on those concerns. My son recently told me how much he and his classmates love her. The sports program is growing and the kids encourage one another in good and bad times during the games.
