I love how diverse the school is and all the different students coming from different parts of CT! However, the school sometimes doesn’t feel like a high school and I feel like im in middle school still. I would start a Study Hall in this school if I could, and get rid of all the unnecessary classes that students are forced to take.

One of the best things about Hill Regional Career High School, compared to my local high school, was the opportunities available. Career had many connections with Yale, and thus provided many great opportunities for the students. Just a few examples are the Yale SCHOLAR summer program, Evolutions, Yale Hospital Volunteering, and many more. The anatomy class at Career had a partnership with Yale in which every month the students were able to visit Yale's cadaver lab and talk with medical students. Career is a school focused on health and business. I was on the health side, and career provides many opportunities for the student to actively learn and participate in real-world activities that most high school students would not be able to experience.
Hill Regional Career High school was a pretty great school, coming in as a freshman. Things were lively, and it seemed that everyone knew each other, this feeling has faded over time and has honestly been replaced with this feeling of not knowing anyone. The staff has changed, the principal I got to know left, and my guidance counselor left. I didn't get any classes that I signed up for my senior year. I do have to say though, the teachers are pretty good, and most are dedicated to their job. They are what truly makes this school worthwhile.
