We have our third child now at Hill-Murray and each has had different, but positive experiences at HM. Our oldest, a daughter, focused on volleyball and she adored many of the teachers and was challenged by all of them. She still talks about and has stayed in touch with one of her seventh grade teachers. Now she is a confident, verbal, socially-conscious second year law student and doing very well. Our second child, a son, snuck onto the football team after persuading my wife that he would just be a kicker. He was soon a starting receiver scoring touchdowns and enjoying the "ultimate team game" on Friday nights. Now a junior at Creighton, last year he came home and delivered a speech to the entire school body about what being a Pioneer meant to him. Our third child, a sophomore boy, is having a great time and excelling academically, athletically, and socially, despite covid. HM has made many positive changes over the years with communication and culture. Our family loves Hill-Murray!
There are so many things we love about Hill-Murray but number one is the teacher and administration responsiveness to concerns (not that there are many). I usually hear a response within 24-48 hours - amazing! Second, both my children have commented over and over about how kind everyone is, whether it be students or faculty, the school is living out their Benedictine values and it shows! The small class size, dedication to educating the heart, minds and spirits of the kids is apparent in so much of what they do in every little detail. We LOVE this school.
We have had a very positive experience with Hill-Murray School. We have a son who graduated from Hill-Murray and a daughter who currently attends the school. Hill-Murray did an excellent job preparing our son for college and ensuring he was ready academically, socially, and spiritually. The smaller size of the school was an important factor in our decision to send our children to Hill-Murray. Teachers and administrators know the students and are engaged in their learning. We have also appreciated what the school has to offer in terms of extra-curricular programs. Both of our kids have participated in Hill-Murray sports teams, clubs, and the music program. These programs and the additional emphasis on community service, contribute to the development of well-rounded Hill-Murray students, graduates, and members of the community.
