My overall experience as an alumni from the class of 2021 is that the school was a family to me. The teachers, staff, and my classmates are all who helped build the pirces of who I am today by critique or prepareing me for a brighter future in college. I moved to this school for a better opertunity at an education and in succession of doing so I made it into the University of North Carolina Charlotte. My highschool on holiday occasions would send lovely messages and goodies of telling me to stay strong and to have a great time while in college. I will never forget the warmess of what it felt like to be a highlander at Highlands School.
Throughout my years at Highlands School, I have enjoyed being able to have lots of one on one time with my teachers. Due to the small class size, in our K-12 school of about 325 students, the teacher/student ratio is desirable. I have been able to have lots of help from my teachers, while they are able to individually work with each student. If I could change one thing it would definitely be the lack of diversity. Our school is primarily white Americans. Overall my experience has been very comfortable, but I am ready to step into the real world of college.
The school is very small, so the community environment is nice. The in-person teachers are all qualified, but most advanced classes are online. The students are all nice as well, but there are no clubs.
