Highland is a great because of the tightness of the community and the effort teachers put into each student. While I think the expensive tuition limits the different backgrounds of students attending Highland, the types of students that attends this school are motivated, passionate, and contribute to the community in unique ways. Highland offers great classes and programs that reflect any possible interests of a student and has established the kind of community that incoming students build on while drawing from the productiveness and energy of the student body.

Highland’s education program is outmatched by any school in the surrounding districts. The teachers really take the time to become not only educators but mentors to students. The administration and faculty believe very highly in the ability of students and want nothing but success for them. The school itself has minor flaws, but that can be said about any school. I wouldn’t change my experience there for anything. It was an amazing place to grow and thrive before taking the next steps in life.
Highland School is the perfect fit for my son. My son started at Highland as a freshman in high school because the public school system wasn't providing what he needed to succeed in college or the real world. He is a thriving Senior now. Highland provided him with the challenges & attention he needed to grow & prepare him for college & beyond. Highland is a college preparatory school, but there is no "cookie cutter" path. One of the best things about Highland is that they encourage students to be themselves and applaud the differences we all have. Highland emphasizes community service -- the principle of giving is woven into the culture. Highland does not place a higher value on math, English, history, foreign languages, the arts, clubs, or athletics. Highland supports all activities equally & students are encouraged to try new things.
