The school has a lot of potential, though there are some aspects that need fixing. One of the biggest things the school needs to improve are opportunities. It lacks in giving students a chance to join clubs that aren't sports related. Meanwhile, there is a robotics team that has made it to World championships 2 years in a row; the school barely promotes the club. Some of the teachers seem passionate about their job; they put the students as their priority. Though, a lot of the teachers only teach the students through mindless worksheets and tests; they don't show the joy of education
One of the positive things about the school is the tight knit community. All the kids and teachers know each other. The school is safe and there is no drug usage or violence. A lot of the students have school pride.
Overall, the experience that Highland provided was enjoyable.

I like the small school experience and how I was able to connect with all of my teachers and peers. The teachers, especially our school counselor, open us up to so many opportunities. I have been able to be involved in things such as earning college credits in high school, many red cord opportunities, job shadows and so much more.
I have been to this school almost my whole life. I have been K-12 grades and I have gained lots of experiences from this school. This is a very small school but with great academics. Everyone in this school is out to help each other and this is a great advantage of this school. One thing is that there could be more staff to help the students, this will also create more jobs. Another thing that this school lacks is the diversity of classes or clubs. This school has core classes available but that is about it. I would of made my experience better if there were more different classes or clubs. Overall Highland is a great school and I recommend it to any student.
