Overall I was very pleased with this school district. However, I would like the teachers to educate their students on all forms of citations. I learned how to write in MLA but when I went to college, I used every form but MLA. I also think that their music department could be stronger. As a music educator, I felt that I was lacking way behind my peers when it came to analyzing music and building chords.
We are a small school, so you are able to meet everyone. There are special connections between students, because we all see each other everyday.
Recently, Highland High School has been converted into a charter school. Many were skeptical of the change, but it was necessary to keep our school a float. Although, at times, our school has been low on resources to be able to offer a greater variety of classes, they quality of the education is irreplaceable. There are benefits to both large schools and small schools. The advantages I received were those of good morals from growing up in a small town. Though I am ready to move out to the great big world now, I would never choose anywhere else to go to school.
