Choosing this high school was one of the best decisions of my life! From amazing teachers to peers that support and get along with each other, High Technology High School provided me with the best possible high school experience I could have asked for. The academics are rigorous but manageable, and the clubs provide great opportunities to meet and become friends with others who share your interests. The hour long lunch in the middle of every day is a perfect time to get some extra studying done as well as generally hanging out with friends. I have met so many great people by going to this school, and I believe that I changed for the better having gone here over my home high school. There are people from every walk of life and by going to this school I was able to learn so much, not just from academics but also from my fellow students.
Senior here, this school was alright, it probably did me some good learning how to study and all that before I go to college. The guidance/college counselor department is really good, shout out to Mrs. Sohayda. If you want to be the leader of a club or any officer really, forget it, there will be a dozen kids running and the winner will inevitably be the same kid who already runs the other five clubs or someone else in their circle. The reason for all this competition is that you need in-school leadership to be in NHS at high-tech, which is why 75% of the kids can't make it in each year. The kids aren't very athletic but that's kind of a plus if you are athletic and like the feeling of being the best at something. Overall I'd say only come here if you have strict parents that weren't gonna let you go out to parties anyway, if that's the case for you, you might as well get into a good college while you stuck in high school.
Small, STEM-based school, tight knit community, not very competitive but quite rigorous. Homework and classes are manageable, a bit lacking in activities normal high schools would have like sports, but you can still participate in sports at your home high school. Overall is nice.
