I LOVE HTH! HTH is a project-based learning school, so they "teach" by having students tackle real-world problems. Teachers don't really "teach" they come up with problems and provide feedback for students who are, in part, learning to teach themselves and learning from their peers. I have found, during my internships, that as a HTH student, I tend to be better prepared for the workplace than a typical high schooler. HTH teaches students how to learn, be adaptable and most importantly, how to talk to adults. More often than not, high schoolers tend to view adults as "superior" to them and have trouble expressing their point of view. High Tech High diminishes these fears by giving students countless opportunities to work with professionals and to develop their own ideas and opinions. This instills a sense of confidence, and as a result, every single HTH student can present and speak to adults in a professional manner.

High Tech High is a project-based charter school that I really fit in well with. I enjoy working with my hands and collaborating with my peers to make fantastic projects. My first year of high school my group of four made a drone made out of cardboard! High Tech High really appeals to students who would like to excel in their schoolwork and would like to have the opportunity to participate in awesome projects. Something I think High Tech High needs is to stress the SAT and ACT prep more for freshman and sophomores.
They prepare students more for life, and less for college. In college there is alot of studying, taking notes, and alot of writing. At this school there are no text books, very few tests, and few writing assignments. When hearing HTH graduates tall about their experiences in college they struggle alot in the math department, and other classes as well. High tech is great for learning life morals, and challenges but doesn't succeed in preparing students for colleges as well as public schools. There are honor classes but no AP, they think they are revolutionary but still have a long way to go.
