I LOVE HTH! HTH is a project-based learning school, so they "teach" by having students tackle real-world problems. Teachers don't really "teach" they come up with problems and provide feedback for students who are, in part, learning to teach themselves and learning from their peers. I have found, during my internships, that as a HTH student, I tend to be better prepared for the workplace than a typical high schooler. HTH teaches students how to learn, be adaptable and most importantly, how to talk to adults. More often than not, high schoolers tend to view adults as "superior" to them and have trouble expressing their point of view. High Tech High diminishes these fears by giving students countless opportunities to work with professionals and to develop their own ideas and opinions. This instills a sense of confidence, and as a result, every single HTH student can present and speak to adults in a professional manner.

High Tech High is a very diverse community that represents a family. Being apart of the High Tech High community allows so much growth and understanding about yourself and the world around you. The project-based system has it's pros and cons. You are able to communicate with the outside world and build connections, just like how it is in "real world." Some cons is that the project-based system doesn't prepare you much for college. Not knowing how to prepare for tests and studying can be quite challenging. Overall, High Tech High is a great school that really teaches you life lessons.
High Tech High has been a home and a supportive environment for me throughout high school. I work well in a project based learning environment like High Tech because it allows me to take initiative for myself and my work. I feel prepared to experience the world with the determination and drive to be successful!
