The High Tech High North County system definitely is not for everyone but it did help me! I got tons of support on my college applications and I feel comfortable about my letters of recommendation because of the community we have here at High Tech High North County. Yes, this place has its flaws one being math but an easy fix for that is to take matters into your own hand and take a math class at your local community college. Very fun school and I love the people here. I would say that the school has very much so prepared me for College and I am ready to take on the rigors of life. They have great internship opportunities here too!
High Tech High North County is an amazing school with so many opportunities. Working with the community and being able to figure out what you want your future to be like through internship opportunities. Another great opportunity is having a class that is focused for college readiness, this allows you to further look into your future and decide what you want to do, as well as learning about financial aid and more.
I personally loved High Tech High's project base curriculum. The school goes about topics in a way that will teach students in a 'hands-on' learning approach. We were taught early on about public speaking and practiced multiple times a semester. Group work is high encouraged and practice, as we learned to make compromises and work with others. In addition, we were taught maybe computer programs, even dappling in coding languages such as Python. The few downsides to High Tech High lie in the areas of college preparation. Although I felt I learned many life skills in high school, I found myself playing catch up once I entered a college environment. As I had never had a final in high school, I was not quite aware of my study habits. College is usually a textbook heavy environment and it is important to know how you study best. Other than this, I loved attending High Tech High North County and made many memorable memories there!
