High Meadow School Reviews
Rating 4.33 out of 5 6 reviews
My daughter has loved her time at HMS - this is our third year. She has made incredible friends, and her teachers are very invested and supportive. She develops her critical thinking and problem-solving skills every day. HMS incorporates nature and outdoor education into students' daily learning experiences, and the enrichments (art, dance, music, gardening) are incredible.
High Meadow School has surpassed our greatest expectations, we feel so fortunate to have found this incredible school right here in the Hudson Valley!
HMS is true to their mission statement of creating a diverse democratic community. From the cross collaborations of the teachers sharing ideas and energies, the academics, performing and visual arts, the choices students experience before high school gives them a solid understanding of who they are and what they want to do in the world. The Choice + Voice really is that and advocacy for themselves and others clearly differentiates High Meadow Students.
Our daughter loves her school and has brought our whole family along on her journey teaching us the values of High Meadow.
If you’re looking for a school that can show you what is possible, this might be what you’ve been looking for.

Our daughter has attended High Meadow since 4th grade, and it has been a wonderful experience for us all. It is a nurturing, inclusive, and creative community where children are joyfully met where they are in their learning, get to explore nature and play outside in all types of weather, form close relationships with teachers and classmates, dive deep into the arts and other special areas of interest, and are continuously celebrated for their strengths. We feel lucky to have found this independent school after public school did not work out for our child.
