Most of the teachers in the school are very bad and in my opinion, don’t know how to teach. Our sports are ok but the only good things happen after school. All the clubs are for very specific people and don’t correspond to every one. Last year when the school had “houses” one house got to go to a water park when the rest didn’t. Also the foods are not very good and aren’t that healthy, they have a nacho/burrito bar every day.
I think that this school was as safe as it could be with the types of kids it had in the school. There were many dangerous kids, but they worked through it until they went to high school. Bullying was definitely an issue and I know that many kids felt left out and excluded from their friends. Even with 800 people, a student could easily get lonely. Don't go to the counselors for help. They don't do anything but berate you. They tell you everything you're doing wrong, and if you're feeling sad one day, they don't try and cheer you up, they call the cops, your parents, and a mental health representative to make sure you don't commit suicide. Which I mean, it's a good effort and it's great that they do that and have those resources, but use the resources for the kids who actually need it. I was the new kid. It was normal for me to feel sad
The dress code was ridiculous, as it is at every school. The teachers were okay but overall it would've been easier to be homeschooled. Guidance counselors were awful. If you wanted help, it was easier to go online or ask your parents than ask them. The vice principal was a jerk, in all honesty. Even as a high school junior, I am still terrified of him. He never smiled.
