Higgins School Reviews

Higgins is a very small school, allowing for very personal relationships with your teachers. I have loved being able to learn in a small, close environment. Higgins has offered me many opportunities, such as being the top of my class, being in leadership positions in many organizations, and being able to be super involved in everything. Because of the personal relationships with my coaches, I have been able to go to Playoff in basketball 3 times and I've gone to State in tennis 2 times. I also went to state in UIL Ready Writing last year.
If I could change something about Higgins, I would change our attendance. We've dropped so low that our school will be closing at the end of this year. It's hard to see the school where I grew up shut down because there aren't enough kids to keep it open.

Higgins is a good place to learn. It is situated in a small Panhandle county named Lipscomb, and is home to about 400 people. The small-town atmosphere is an amazing place to raise a family. You are never far from a familiar place, and the teachers at the school bend over backwards to make sure your children get the best education they can provide. Though there are some drawbacks (being in a small town means less class diversity), the faculty and staff try to make every experience the best it can be.
