It was an adequate school, but recently there has been a bullying mishap against an autistic students and they only suspended the student for 3 days! Not only have they dismissed this case they are not allowing students to use phones because of the video that was released of the incident. They are trying to keep us quiet but things like things shouldn't be washed away and we should be able to speak of what is right.

What I liked about Hidalgo Early College High School were my English and History teachers, compared to the other teachers they made my years of studying enjoyable even though at times the assignments can be difficult.
The changes I would wish to see take place in the school for the safety of individuals' health is the food, it is packaged and sometimes they are spoiled or cold. Furthermore, bullying does take place in the school and the way administration deals with such problems are to suspend the victim of bullying rather than giving the bully the discipline. I am not saying all the administrators are bad but they do need to practice on how to professionally deal with issues such as bullying, the only time they do something about it is when the parent brings up the lawyer. It may be a small public school but they are very spirited and has plenty of potential of being a good early college school. Although, the teachers may lack supplies they do try their best to make the class ready.
I believe that by having attended this school for the past 4 years made me realize that other schools have it better than being here . Administration here believes that insignificant points are more valid than the overall safety of their students this being bullying, respect and more. Living right next to the border should push the school to upgrade their security systems, however, we've had previous encounters with people rummaging into the school from across the border.
