Hickory Grove has proven to be a great private, Christian school. Administration has been supportive of any accomplishments I have striven to achieve such as starting clubs and pulling together activities. The teachers are very helpful and overly qualified for their jobs. The academics and AP courses are challenging, but that’s how they should be. The success rate in these courses is also impressively high with majority passing exams with 4s and 5s in many of the classes, mostly because of the support from teachers and small class sizes. The food is pretty good too, especially for cafeteria food. The only slight downside is the diversity is lacking with a reputation of being primarily white and conservative, but that’s about it!

Hickory Grove has been a great school to attend! As a small school, all the high school students know each other and there is a true sense of community. The diversity could be better, but for a private school, is very impressive. The teachers and administration genuinely care for the students.
If you want your kid to go to a Christian college or UNCC, this school would be great. If you have higher ambitions, want STEM, Service Academies, Ivy League, Harvard, Yale don't go, No guidance help for ambitious kids because lots of other kids with learning and behavioral issues require more guidance. Send your really good student with ambitions ANYWHERE else unless you want less than average STEM academics and an average academics. We learned with our oldest
