It's a good school and I genuinely enjoy being at this school. It has good teachers, academics, clubs, and academies. There are good people at this school and although there is some bad crowd of kids there are also good ones. The lunch is not that great but you can always bring your own lunch which a lot of students do. I also don't like the lack of AP classes but there are AICE and dual enrollment classes. Overall I truly love this school and the opportunities that are offered here you won't find anywhere else!

Hialeah Gardens High School is an excellent school in all aspects-- the school offers a multitude of programs for students to use to their advantage, allowing them to take classes that can substitute college courses (if the tests are passed). This is seen in the long list of AP and AICE courses the school offers, all of them being taught by teachers that are more than suitable for the subjects. Dual enrollment is also offered during the school day and after school. The teachers are wonderful and are very helpful; they genuinely care for the students there. There is a great variety of clubs offered for students to participate in, one of my favorites being band. The very successful club has reached state recognition, being among the 5 top bands in Florida in the 2017 year in its category! To conclude, I highly recommend this school to anyone that is looking to advance in their academic careers and to be in a healthy ambient created by the students and staff in that school.
My overall experience sucked. As a current college student, this high school failed to prepare me adequately. There wasn't an explanation on taking care of your mental health, the cost of college outside of books and tuition, nor was there a team of "advisors" or "counselors" ready to assist you. While at HGHS, the administration, and individuals within the administration, made life difficult. My counselor was atrocious, as she made it seem like I was the problem and never offered any advice or help with resources. The testing chair also will favor the students who take AICE classes over regular students by not letting them re-take the PSAT unless they take time out of their class day to go talk to her about taking the exam. This is unfair to students because they are assuming that because a student is not making the school an extra $5000 in AICE stipends, they are a bad student and will not succeed in college.
