No lack of resources, but the resources offered were not relevant to my interests or choice of major in college. Things I started on my own or with groups received little assistance, and many activities that I did find interesting were discontinued.
Strictly academically, my experience was very good. Coursework remained relevant in exam settings and in the work I do today.
Established culture made group involvement extremely difficult, and I often felt ostracized or like an impostor due to aforementioned culture that comprised cliques and cultural bubbles.

Most of the faculty and staff are very willing to help students who might be struggling or those who ask for help. They started a one-to-one IPad program for students, which in my opinion is very useful. I think it’s a great program that students should take advantage of however, most students do not take advantage of their iPads and they just leave them dead at home. Hershey High School also provides many opportunities for students to become more involved in the community whether it be through sports or clubs/organizations.
As much as I like to complain about certain things, Hershey is truly an amazing public school. It is extremely competitive in academics and athletics, it hosts tons of extracurriculars for any type of interest, and has a faculty that not only teaches well but cares for the students and understands them. Of course, the school isn't perfect, and there are definite problems present (some elitism, lack of diversity, etc), but the pros outweigh the cons. Even though it is small, there are so many different options for students, especially when it comes to courses. Whatever career path you might have in mind, you're almost guaranteed to have a class or club that is tied to it. The school gives you a lot of independence too: you get to choose how difficult you want your classes to be, you are given the ability to make room in your schedule for study halls, etc, which gives students the chance to make the best of their high school experience. Overall, Hershey is the idyllic public school.
