Herron High School Reviews

In general, Herron High School is a wonderful place to get an education. The teachers all genuinely care about the students, and treat them as fellow people. Students are polite and spirited, and unique! There's so much diversity in these halls. The main issues are with communication- emails can be confusing and either too frequent or not frequent enough, scheduling is strange, and overall Herron is a very nontraditional school, which can work for some but definitely won't work for all.
I really enjoy the teachers, rules, and environment of Herron Highschool. The teachers ensure that you are trying your best in school in order to achieve good grades, while also maintaining a fun, entertaining class. The rules are similar to other schools, and are considerate of safety concerns, as we live in the city while being considerate of the student's wants. The environment of the school is very enjoyable. The student body is very diverse; there is someone for everyone. Nearly everyone is respectful of eachother and their learning environments, and there have been minimum reports of incidents such as bullying. Before I attended Herron, I didn't necessarily care about my academics, but now I take them very seriously, as the school pushes you to try your hardest and puts you on the right path to have a successful future. I enjoy Herron Highschool and would definitely recommend it to incoming freshman, and I can see why it is considered one of the best public schools in Indiana.
Not a terrible school but of course there's some flaws. There's plenty of interesting classes to select, a large amount of clubs, and opportunities to do something for the community and fellow classmates. Most of the time, people don't seem to give something a chance or actually get creative with it, so they'll complain about it for days. Then you have those in lower levels of high school students that don't seem to have common sense, but that's natural at times. Especially after a pandemic where they've lost most of their middle school experiences. Some of the teachers are cool and chill about everything. Then others are a bit too serious. Can't complain much though. A job is a job and everyone has their own responsibilities to handle and should pursue to reach their own success and Herron shows that well.
