Herricks Middle School Reviews

Herricks use to be a great school district. For the past few years it’s been on a steady decline. I think the reason why the district does well in tests is because the parents in the district are very competitive. Their children are in so many after school programs such as Kumon, Huntington Learning Centers, etc. they test well. I do not believe the teachers in this district deserve all credit. The administrative staff, forget about it, when you call they seem upset that they have to communicate with the parents. It’s a shame. Look elsewhere for a better education for your children.
When I was still in middle school (2010-2013), Ms. Sarah (I think) would never let students back into the building after a certain time to follow the safety rules. Also, visitors ALWAYS had to sign in (she was a major stickler about it).
Compared to the high school, there aren't as many different and interesting clubs available at the middle school. Also, sports take up the gym space, so you can't do any after school recreation there.
While I kept to myself a lot in middle school, the PTA for Herricks is always raising money to support the arts and sports. It's great that they support the elementary schools, middle school, and high school equally.
While I have not attended any other schools outside of Herricks, I've attended Chinese school and art school outside of Herricks, and the the amount Herricks' teachers invest in their students beats every extracurricular school.
