Heron Lake - Okabena High School Reviews

Heron-Lake Okabena High School is a great school. We only have about 280 students K-12 enrolled and the teaching staff is phenomenal. We also have high school teachers who teach college courses which is great because then we do not have to PSEO, we can get the college credit right at our own high school. I loved going to a small school, I knew just about everyone and had a lot of friends. Everyone was super friendly and the teachers made you want to learn, they made class enjoyable.

I enjoyed being able to ask the teachers questions and more one on one time, because the classes generally aren't that large. Everyone is encouraged to be themselves and express themselves however they want, whether it's musically or artistically. I honestly don't think there is anything I would like to see change. This is a great school where you can explore various opportunities.
What did I like about Heron Lake - Okabena, well firstly, the school itself is very small which gives the teachers a better chance at assisting the students. The teachers really try their best at trying to keep thing simple for the students to understand. I never felt I was excluded from any of the school activities. My over all experience was really well perceived. It was a fun experience. Somethings I may change would be, to pay more attention when the whole class may not seem to understand. Sometimes there are topics that just stump the students and some teachers don't really see that the students aren't really learning anything at the moment.
