At Hernando High School, the teachers are especially nice. They work hard to teach us students the important lessons throughout our four years of schooling. The school is also a safe and comfortable environment for working on classwork. I am satisfied with this school 100% and would not want to be at any other high school. HHS Tigers all of the way!

The poor reviews as you can see are written by students. Probably emotionally charged. I cant tell you that HHS is a very nice school to attend. Especially for De Soto County, it is one of the nicest schools to go to in the area. For me personally, I wished that there were more extracurriculars and classes, especially AP. But you have to keep in mind that that the area is in Mississippi, so it obviously falls behind much bigger and better schools where there is much more population and much more funding. All I can say is that every year there is something new that HHS has to offer. We recently got a better art department and are adding new clubs/sports/classes every year. This is very good for a school where most people want to stay in state to attend college. For Mississippi, this is one of the SAFEST and NICEST schools out there. And for Mississippi, this is one of the best schools that actually cares about your education.
There were some things that could have been better. For example, there are some teachers that are not necessarily qualified. Also, there are ridiculous rules regarding eating and drinking in the hallways. Also, the rules applying to cell phones are crazy. If it barely peaks out of the pocket, teachers hop on it. Overall I do not have many complaints, however like I mentioned some things need improvement.
