There is a strong academic culture at Hereford, with most students being very driven and competitive. Teachers are usually open if a student needs help, though more and more teachers are unavailable due to hallway duty. Counselors and administration are tolerable but do very little to actually guide students personally. People are very involved in well-staffed and well-supported sports, and school events see pretty good turnout. There is very little visible bullying or harassment here, especially compared to years past- same with hard drug usage. At time of writing, school population is primarily caucasian though minorities are not uncommon. Very recently Hereford has crossed the tipping point from being majority ruralite into being majority upper-middle class, and the culture has changed dramatically in a matter of years. This is due to the large influx of wealthy families moving into the area in order to send their kids to this school.

Hereford High School has some of the best teachers I’ve ever encountered. Not only do they know how to teach, each and every one of them genuinely care about their students. They understand how difficult high school is, and are able to help their students in multiple ways by teaching in a variety of methods. Hereford is known state- wide for their athletics, with many students transferring to play on these teams. The AP courses are rigorous, and are often said to be more difficult than actual college courses, which not only helps students’ intelligence, but also with their college preparedness. Internships are offered here, which not only gets students an opportunity to observe and participate directly in the field they want to study, it helps them decide if what they are to be studying in college is what they really want to do for the rest of their life. I’m proud to be a student at Hereford high school, and would strongly recommend anyone in the area attending school here.
Hereford High School is an overall great school! This school has amazing teachers and a great sports program. The musicals put on in the school are very successful and turn out great. The only big problem with this school is that the school spends most of it's money on sports, this leaves programs like the Performing Arts and Music to be left behind to fend for themselves.
