I loved my time at the Early College. I chose to go to HCEC because I wanted an academic push, and I knew that a traditional high school would not provide the kind of education that I wanted. I was able to take many high level college classes, and discover a passion for STEM. Without it, I probably would not be majoring in what I am now. The staff are not only caring adults, but also friends of the students. Not only did I get to build meaningful relationships with the staff at the high school, but at the Community College as well. Many of my college professors during my time at HCEC have had just as much (if not sometimes more) influence on my life as the high school staff. I am grateful for impact that the staff and students have made on my life!

I have had an excellent experience at HCEC. I was very hesitant about coming to Early College because I thought I would miss out on a lot of the opportunities at a regular high school. Although Early College does not offer sports or music, the school offers a variety of opportunities that make the Early College the best high school in Henderson County. We have superior teachers who go above and beyond and are highly informative in their subjects. The student body is small but very close which gives the Early College a family atmosphere. Our academics are challenging but prepare students for college courses. The workload is easy to manage and tutors are readily available for anyone struggling. For anyone considering applying, I would highly recommend this program and I would recommend graduating in four years. That way you can graduate as you would at a regular high school along with a two-year degree. The school is great for anyone wanting to work up towards a higher degree.
I've had a wonderful experience at Henderson County Early College (HCEC). It was the place where I found a family amongst my new friends and a new discovery about myself. I was able to push myself to strive for academic success in my new environment and overcome challenges. The program taught me about my drive and motivation. In addition, the college classes allowed me to learn about a college atmosphere and get a head start on my degree. Earning my Associates Degree will put me ahead on the path to becoming a Physician's Assistant, my dream career. Attending HCEC was the best decision I made and it allowed me to get a step closer to my dreams and find a new understanding of myself.
