Come visit my school. You won't find any other high school like it. Anyone you meet that has been to my school can say that we have a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Our staff and students don't shy away when someone is in need of help. Not only do we have impeccable manners, we have passion in everything we do no matter what it is. We have an acronym called PASSION that's been instilled in us ever since we first stepped foot on campus. It reminds us of everything we stand for: Professional, Academic, Self-Oriented, Strong, Integrity, Optimistic, and Nurturing. There's something else you should know about our school its a health oriented school. So if you're looking to go into the health field this school is perfect for you. But take into consideration before you apply that we don't have sports, music, and art like other high schools do. Goodluck!
In terms of a career in the health field, this school is a great choice. There are a variety of electives that someone could take if they are interested. There is a medical assistant program, there will be a pharmacology program, and there are internship opportunities your senior year. The school does their best for extracurricular events, but that's about it. There is a basketball team and there used to be a volleyball team. There is open gym in case someone is interested. There are around 7 active clubs, which might be enough for our small student population. The teachers say that wheneved you need them, you could go to them knowing they will keep an open mind. It is true for some teachers, but some of them might not be as reliable or as open minded. Sometimes the faculty is overwhelming in terms of taking courses that aren't needed; they have the mentality that the students should just listen and the staff shouldn't be blamed for because they are doing this for your own good.
There were stressful times, but also very good learning opportunities at Health Careers Academy! You have to work hard, but they teach you how to have a very good work ethic! Something I like about the school is that it helps you prepare for the future if you’re going to go into the medical field and also the environment is very peaceful and calm. One thing I would change is how hard they can be on you, but after all it’s for your own good
