This school has truly shaped me like nothing else. I've grown up here, and my classmates and peers are my family. The community this school builds in unlike any other and any student who attends will likely come out on the other side with skills in direct communication, problem-solving, and a greater capacity for thinking beyond their experiences. The only thing holding them back from five stars is a major lack of diversity, both economic, racial, and cultural, though that is something the school is striving to correct. Though many consider the school to be "woke," the vast majority of the population is wealthy and white, leading to some flawed views on race and wealth. The school also desperately needs to improve some of its policies, especially those concerning sexual assault. However, despite some of these bigger flaws, the administration truly has the best interest of their students at heart and is always open to communication, and willing to help in whatever ways they can.

Both of my kids have had an amazing experience with this school. I’ve been impressed at how the teachers differentiate instruction and provide extra challenges to students who are ready for them. The students are encouraged to dive deep and explore concepts way beyond the surface level. Ive been impressed by the focus on leadership and community. We have seen the school through some big transitions over the years, and feel confident that the quality of education has only improved. The teaching staff is stellar—inspired and inspiring. Highly recommended.
Headwaters is a place for kids who want to grow, together. The school places importance on student-teacher relationships just as much as academic rigor, creating an environment where every student has a family of mentors supporting them. Students are given a lot of agency in learning their own way, while still advancing at a rapid rate due to college-level academics.
