Hazelwood Elementary School Reviews

We transferred our kindergartner to private school because it seemed she wasn't treated like a person. We are a military family and moved from overseas after the school year started. She was still jet lagged on her first day, but we were told she would be truant if we delayed starting further. She cried every day at school and begged me to disenroll her. Her teacher seemed nice, but told me at conference how much my child's crying was annoying her. I felt like responding sarcastically, "I'm sorry my child's sadness is such a problem for you" but held it back. I also didn't like that they bribed kids with candy to behave, and I overheard teachers yelling. The thing that pushed me over the edge was all the special dress days. About every other day was wear red day, or PJ day, or camouflage day, etc. It was hard to keep track. The crying stopped as soon as she started private school.

First year of school for us and my daughter was zoned for hazelwood. Love all the open houses prior to school starting. They provided lots of information such as enrollment dates, what we needed to enroll, when school will starts, bus routes and times, lunch system, etc.
