What I like at East are the opportunities for some of the more advanced students, like being able to take college classes while still in high school. I also like the fact that we are not required to where uniforms. This allows students to express themselves in nonverbal ways. Some things they could change are the food and adding more extra curricular activities . By adding more extra curricular activities, you are keeping students in more of a positive atmosphere and out of the streets where they are more prone to get into trouble.

Hazelwood East High School is far from terrible; however, there are multiple things that need to be changed for the school to be considered good for me. For one, the school does not do a good enough job on the academic side for more advanced students like myself. Either there is not a teacher to teach an AP class that I want or there are students who get placed in a class that is not on their level and then they cause the teacher to have to slow the class down to help out those few students. This cause advanced students to get put at an educational disadvantage compared to other students at the district. On the other hand the school offers numerous fun clubs and sports for the students to join and have fun. All in all, Hazelwood East is an average school with a huge amount of potential.
My experience at Hazelwood East High School has been very good so far. I’m an excellent student here and even though I’m not as involved as I should be, Ive invested my time in some of the most wonderful programs and activities ever! I played volleyball for 2 years at Hazelwood East high, Junior varsity 2017 and Varsity 2018. I am currently senior and I was also involved with Youth in government and 4H program my junior year 2017. We have a great boys basketball team and I loved played volleyball for our school. We had lots of supporters, I’m very committed to my grades also, we have a a handful good resources when it comes to staying on top of your work but other than that, this school is great.
