I adore Hazard High School, and I honestly don't think I could've had a better high school experience. The lower student count creates an environment where I'm always excited to go to school, where everyone knows just about everyone, and can do work while having a good time being with each other. The school offers excellent education opportunities in helping students enter dual credit classes, both online and in-person, and several excellent and passionate teachers. The school is extremely accomodating to everyone, whether they be less fortunate, behind in their classes, or generally require any extra help.

Hazard High School is an amazing school where students, parents, and faculty alike are treated like family! Once a Bulldog, Always a Bulldog!
Band is my favorite. Students, parents, teachers and our principal are very dedicated to our success. Football, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, golfing, soccer, softball, volleyball, chess team, bass fishing team, tennis, academic team, chorus, speech and debate team, national honors society, student technology leadership program STLP, theatre and yearbook staff are most of the other opportunities. Students are encouraged from the first day of the freshman class until we graduate. We have many and varied ways of raising money, students, teachers and parents are all involved in this process. A lot of the students are involved in several activities throughout the year. Band can be very time consuming but it has one of the highest grade averages in the school. Football, basketball and most other extracurricular activities are usually time consuming during their season. Academics and attendance are considered first and foremost when you are involved in the extracurricular activities. If you do not get good grades or you do not go to school, do not expect to participate.
