Haynes Academy School for Advanced Studies is an excellent school. It provides plenty of help to prepare for college, tons of clubs and sports, and plenty of opportunities to get community service and participate in the fine arts. The school band and theater are the best in the parish, and the student body is extremely diverse and committed. There is a whole community built around the school and parents there are super nice and committed. That being said, I would like to see an improvement on the old buildings, as well as a more efficient administration and better cafeteria food. Apart from that, this is an excellent school to go to!

I’ve been at Haynes since I was a sixth grader. From coming into a bigger school scared to death not knowing anything I now feel like I’ve grown more as a person. I feel mature and ready for college and that’s all accredited to my amazing teachers. They bend over backwards for everyone and that’s something that has helped me tremendously along the way. I also love the diversity of my school I feel like it has allowed me to be more open to other people’s beliefs, religions, and overall perspectives. I also love my schools counselors and band. Go jackets!
Haynes Academy is the kind of school that prepares students for life after it. Most schools just seem concerned with how their students represent the school while they are enrolled, but Haynes teachers and faculty are consistently there for their students for problems both in and outside of the classroom. Teachers prepare their students for real-life issues, like paying for college, based on their own life experiences and questions that previous students asked. The way they teach is constantly evolving, taking feedback from fellow teachers and students themselves. Teachers and faculty both act as another home and family for students and treat them as such. Their kindness and willingness to help is infectious, and students often help each other with whatever problems that may arise. Overall, it is a great school that feels more like a community than a campus and presents an interactive and joyous learning environment.
