Haynes has been such an awesome experience for me. I didn’t receive a seat until my Junior year, but once a seat finally opened up and I was able to enroll I was able to make friends quickly. The students, teachers and staff were very welcoming and made me feel like I belonged right away. I was able to jump right into talented music and art as well as take part in the productions with theatre. I am so thankful for a public school that has all of these accommodations available to us. The teachers strive hard to prepare us for college and there are many opportunities at Haynes to get a step ahead in planning for our journeys into college after graduation. At the end of my junior year Haynes took us on a trip called junior journey. We were able to travel by bus and tour several college campuses along the way from Louisiana to Tennessee. It was an amazing experience and something I was very thankful for. Haynes Advanced Academy is excellent and I would recommend this school to everyone!
I'm in my 5th year at Haynes and I love it! The teachers genuinely care and form real connections with their students. The work is hard, but it really does prepare us for college and exam season. Our school offers many AP and College-level courses, like engineering through LSU curriculum.
Academic clubs, like mock trials and academic games, and STUCO are the only clubs that are really active by the second semester. If you are like me and don't like academic clubs, then there aren't many opportunities to bulk up your college resume. Our Campus is old and contains many safety hazards throughout
Haynes is an amazing school with countless opportunities for scholarships and future connections in various fields.

Compared to other schools in my area, Haynes offers a plethora of opportunities. The instruction and courses here surpass those of other schools, and students have access to the resources they need, numerous organizations to get involved in, and a welcoming community of teachers, peers, and staff. Although the facility is somewhat worn down, and the bathroom could use some improvements, the campus is at least average compared to other schools of a similar status, and the challenging yet friendly, cooperative atmosphere makes up for it. Overall, Haynes is a remarkable school!
