Haynes Academy is a vibrant, cultural school with amazing academics! Everything you can ever want and need. There is an array of clubs of all kinds, whether it be anime, gay-straight alliance, black student union, quiz bowl, environmental, academic games, youth and government, mock trials, and SO MUCH MORE! On the academic side, this school is one grade level higher than other schools. The classes offered are honors, gifted, AP, and DE or Dual Enrollment Classes. The school spirit is high because everyone loves it so much. I would recommend anyone and everyone to take the CoGAT Test if they want admission at this great school.
Haynes Academy School for Advanced Studies is an excellent school. It provides plenty of help to prepare for college, tons of clubs and sports, and plenty of opportunities to get community service and participate in the fine arts. The school band and theater are the best in the parish, and the student body is extremely diverse and committed. There is a whole community built around the school and parents there are super nice and committed. That being said, I would like to see an improvement on the old buildings, as well as a more efficient administration and better cafeteria food. Apart from that, this is an excellent school to go to!
When I started high school at Haynes, I had all types of different emotions going through my head. On my first day there I had no idea what to do. It was as if I was the new kid on the block. I was highly upset with my parents for they were sending me to a school where I only knew one person. But one thing I always tell myself that everything happens for your own good and that there is something better planned for you. High school is an experience in which you grow from a child to a young adult. This is the time in life when you grow with almost the same group of students and learn from one another where you make friends and lose friends. But through everything, the counselors and teachers at Haynes will be there for you. The student population is friendly, when I went to Haynes I was a shy kid but my peers were so amazing and encouraging that I gained the confidence to be myself. Live your high school life with a wide smile on your face and inside you!
