I started my years at Hawthorne Middle/ High School in 2015, my 8th grade year. My years at Hawthorne have been very good ones. I know when I am older I will look back at these years of being the best of my life. My older brother graduated from Hawthorne in 2017. I will graduate in 2020. My older brother loved being a Hawthorne Hornet and still represents his pride as a hornet. Throughout these years, I played basketball, softball and volley. I am in clubs such as, UF CROP, College Reach Out Program, with the University of Florida and ETS, Educational Talent Search. I am student body president for class of 2020. My involvement with Hawthorne Middle/ High School goes a long way and i will always be proud to be a Hawthorne Hornet.

My daughter Melanie has grown as a student and a person since I transferred her there at the beginning of the last school year. At her previous school her grades were low and her creative intellect was not engaged. All that changed since she came to Hawthorne. Her grades are awesome and she receives praise and encouragement from her teachers. She engages in her class work, after school activities, helping other's and is growing into a responsible goal setting young woman I always knew she could be. The only thing that should change is that this school should be supported and supplied with resources, not threated with closure. Thank you very much Hawthorne High staff. You reached my daughter when other school could not.
I've been attending Hawthorne High School since 7th grade. I've had some rocky middle/high school years, but who hasn't? I never for one second wanted to leave Hawthorne because I've just grown so close to the community it'd hurt to leave it all behind. We're all a family at Hawthorne. We fight, we laugh and we build together as a team. We're a small school which makes it easier to know and get closer to everybody. I loved cheering here and being in all the plays we wrote our self. I've got to watch Hawthorne grow as a team and family. Our football team has improved dramatically over the years and I got to cheer for them on the sidelines all five years. Even though I'm graduating this year, I'll always have a heart of a hornet. I love my school, and my family.
