Hawthorne was not the worst but far from the best. DO NOT attend the school if you don't live near there because sometimes you can be sitting on a bus full annoying kids for a few hours. My bus came at around 5:15 and I got home at 3:40. If you mind your business, you should be fine. Another important piece of advice is that the school only has a few hundred students, so it is very easy to be in the minds of administrators. They will micromanage every aspect of your experience if you make yourself known to them. The school is physically small so hallways can get very crowded and the stairwell between classes can get hectic. In short, don't go here if you don't live near Hawthorne, mind your business, and try to avoid the administrators so they can't remember you by your name.

I am warning you now do not attend this school. If you want the balance of getting a great education and being able to enjoy the high school experience then this is not the school for you. I attended this school for my freshman and sophomore year and I regret it everyday. Safety, Our school has had numerous bomb threats, lock downs, and threats from students attending the school. Sports and after school activities. This school does not have any sports so you have to play for your home school and transportation is not provided unless your home school is Garinger high. We have intramural sports which basically means you play against people at your school. Prom is horrible, some people even wear jeans, nobody takes its seriously. The only good club is Hosa and student council seems fun. Because our school is so small administration is watching you like a hawk and they like to get into any and everything they can get their hands into.
It is an overall good school with students who aren't to much into drama. We are a small school, despite the recent merger we had with another school. I see this as a good thing, as you get to know your fellow classmates better and along with your teachers. The issue is mostly that the administration can be a little uptight, furthermore, there is not a lot of school spirit (although can you blame us)
