Definitely some benefits to the school. If you want to take dual enrollment courses, AP classes or get early release it's all fairly easy to do. You will know the vast majority of the staff and teachers by the time you graduate and if you get on their good side it can be highly advantageous. Look out for some administrators; they are rude off the bat. There are no sports and all clubs happen during school hours. Teachers constantly quit because of admin. Classes are not very rigorous intrinsically but you get out what you put in.

Hawthorne Academy of Health science is an institution that exposes many scholars to diverse subjects within the medical field. Students there are required to take several different biomedical courses in order to graduate. Overall, my experience at HAHS has been great. Everyday I am surrounded by scholars with the same interests and willingness to learn.
Hawthorne was not the worst but far from the best. DO NOT attend the school if you don't live near there because sometimes you can be sitting on a bus full annoying kids for a few hours. My bus came at around 5:15 and I got home at 3:40. If you mind your business, you should be fine. Another important piece of advice is that the school only has a few hundred students, so it is very easy to be in the minds of administrators. They will micromanage every aspect of your experience if you make yourself known to them. The school is physically small so hallways can get very crowded and the stairwell between classes can get hectic. In short, don't go here if you don't live near Hawthorne, mind your business, and try to avoid the administrators so they can't remember you by your name.
