Hawken School is centuries ahead of other high schools.

The academics are why you attend. They are also the bane of the students' existence, but, to be honest, Hawken proves that challenge is the only way to further understanding. It is extremely hard and tedious at times, but it will prepare anyone for college. Rigor is taught to be adapted to, and whether that means a little less sleep, 8 hours of staring at a computer after school, or having a complete meltdown depends on the scenario. It causes legitimate regrets at times, but the curriculum is broken down in a way that gets you right down to the breaking point and then brings you right back to normal. By putting students firsthand through the infamous phrase, "life sucks", Hawken gets you ready for the future. Check the post-Hawken statistics, they speak for themselves. Hawken's brain-slamming methodology objectively works.

Hawken School has greatly prepared me for experiences in the real world. Through its experiential-learning and Fairplay design, I have been given the opportunities to connect with and become a much more influential part of my community. The teachers are amazing, and the students are even better.
It was a great place to spend my four high school years. Although there were times when the pressure of doing a lot of things simultaneously can pile up, the school tries to support you with different spirit days and a supportive school community from the students. Even if sometimes administrative decisions might seem unwarranted, they do a good job of creating a community of understanding where the students know that they are trying to do the right thing.
