I have attended Hawaii Prep since kindergarten. I am now Senior and I’ve loved all 13 years of it! HPA is no normal high school, it’s also an international college preparatory boarding school with diversity from all over the world! I’ve gotten the chance to meet people from Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, and Canada! It’s location is also unbeatable in the foothills of Waimea, a green, lush, cute little town on the Big Island of Hawaii. This school has provided me with endless opportunities and connections, from turtle tagging to camping in Waipio valley and the Volcano National Park. Our Natural Energy Lab has also given me all the technology I could possibly need to explore my passions in math and science. I’ve learned how to use and operate a 3D printer, Lazer Cutter, soldering irons, and much much more. I would recommend this school to any person of any back ground and first language. The majority of the school speaks multiple languages.

HPA was an amazing school that has made my high school experience impeccable. From academics to sports to diversity, this school is a five star. I have never felt more supported as a junior and senior when going through the college application process. The college counselors have been a great support. They have gotten to understand me and helped me pick the best college that was suitable for me. Although there is some concern with HPA when it comes to food, everything else at the school is great!
I like that the community at Hawaii Preparatory Academy is very supportive. I appreciate the diversity that the school has to offer, and its academics. The campus is small but has a lot to offer. Students have the opportunity to develop close relationships with each other in a close-knit community. However, I feel that there should be more clubs at my school and extracurricular activities other than sports. There should be a variety of academic activities to participate in after school hours.
